Our choices in how we use our time reflect what priorities we are prepared to invest in. Volunteer with other Kansas Citians united for educational achievement and demonstrate your investment in our youth and community. If you choose to make a difference in the April 6th election, sign up to become a KCU4EA Neighborhood Captain. Our neighborhood captains are leading the get out the vote (GOTV) activities for this election. Involvement includes:
  • Sending Postcards
    When: March 20th - March 28th. Description: send postcards about the election to people in your neighborhood. Time commitment: 2-10hrs (varies based on availability). Resources provided: prepaid postcards for your area. Resources you provide: 1-20 people willing to send postcards
  • Phone Banking
    When: April 5th - April 6th. Description: call voters in your neighborhood. Time commitment: 2-10hrs (varies based on availability). Resources provided: call lists for your neighborhood. Resources you provide: 10-50 people willing to call people reminding them to vote
  • Fundraising
    When: Now. Description: contacting person / organizations of means and inspiring them to support GOTV efforts for the April 6th school board campaign. Time commitment: varies. Resources provided: campaign budget; sample materials. Resources you provide: time and contacts.
  • Door Knocking
    When: March 20th - March 28th. Description: organize literature drops in your neighborhood. Time commitment: 20hrs (5hrs each on the 20th, 21st, 27th & 28th). Resources provided: lit drop guide, lit drop list/map, door hangers for your area; yard signs for your area. Resources you provide: 10-100 people willing to knock on doors
  • Poll Working
    When: April 6th. Description: pass out literature at polling locations. Time commitment: 2-6hrs (varies based on availability; three 2hr shifts). Resources provided: polling location list; literature. Resources you provide: 10-30 people willing to work shifts at local poll
  • Send Email & Facebook Messages
    When: April 1st - April 6th. Description: send campaign email/fb messages to neighbors and kcmsd voters. Time commitment: 1.5hrs (15 minutes each on the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th & 6th). Resources provided: info provided via email and www.kcu4ea.org. Resources you provide: willingness to share info about the kcmsd election with your circle
